Preparing For Your First Visit
Appointment Length
Appointments last between 50-55 minutes. Couple and family appointments go for 80 minutes. Appointments start on time, so it is important you arrive promptly.
Many people arrive for counselling with a great deal of apprehension and discomfort. Developing a trusting therapeutic relationship with a non-judgmental and confidential psychologist is important to your progress in counselling. Clients report that early uneasiness about attending for counselling or therapy abates quickly because the work is helpful and safe.
Fees
50min counselling session:
90min (approximately) counselling sessions (couples; families):
120min + sessions (TRTP):
Payment Method:
Cash or EFTPOS (check, savings, credit) only
Fees are payable on the day of your appointment
Medicare Rebate
I am a Medicare registered psychologist. Clients may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $96.65 per session for 6-10 sessions on a Mental Health Care Plan (per calendar year). To access this scheme, please make an appointment with your GP to discuss your eligibility. She/he may provide you with a MHCP referral. You will have to bring this plan to your first counselling session in order to claim any rebates.
A receipt will be provided to you following your counselling session. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan, you can present the receipt to Medicare for your refund
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance, please contact your provider to determine if psychology services are included in your cover and how much is rebated per session. Again, a receipt will be provided to you following your counselling session for you to claim.
